The Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law just announced today that Bob Casey (PA-SEN) will be speaking at the law school on September 14th at 3 PM. The event will be open to the public with a reception in the law school atrium afterwards. If you don't live in the DC area, you can watch the webcast online at www.law.edu
The official announcement is
here [PDF WARNING]. The Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law is in Washington DC, at the Brookland/CUA stop on Metro's Red Line. There's a pretty good chance you'll actually be able to talk to Mr. Casey, since CUA isn't Georgetown, the receptions are pretty small. Casey is an alum of the law school, which explains why he's coming.
As a background note, the University's speaker policy prevents any speaker who has advocated pro-choice views from speaking. In any subject. Ever. Which rules out most Democrats. Casey is speaking as part of the Pope John XXIII lecture series, so will probably address theological and social topics more directly than his campaign.
Receptions at the school aren't always swanky, but they have cheese. Mmmm. Cheese.
